The short version

  • We collect what you give us (name, email, billing details) and what the widget sends with each report: the feedback, a screenshot, browser and page details, console logs and, on paid plans, a short session replay.
  • We use it to run Bugfyx. We do not sell your personal information.
  • The widget does not set tracking cookies. Our website loads Google Analytics only if you accept analytics cookies.
  • You can export or delete your data, or write to privacy@bugfyx.com. We reply within 30 days.

A summary for convenience only. The full text below is what applies.

At Bugfyx, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use our website, our app and the Bugfyx feedback widget.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: when you create an account, set up projects or contact us, we collect your name, email address, team details and billing information (card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by us). We also keep session records, including IP address and browser, to keep your account secure. Widget data: when someone submits feedback through the Bugfyx widget on your website, we collect the feedback text, the reporter's name and email if provided, a screenshot and any annotations, the page URL, the selected element's CSS selector, browser, operating system, screen and viewport size, page timings and the page's console logs. On plans that include it, the widget also records a short session replay of the page (a recording of page changes, not a video) with form inputs masked. IP addresses of reporters are used transiently for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain and improve Bugfyx: processing feedback submissions, showing them in your dashboard, sending notifications to the channels you configure (email, Slack, Trello, webhooks), generating short report titles, giving AI coding tools access to your reports when you connect them through MCP, billing, security and customer support. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database run by our hosting provider in the EU, and files such as screenshots and attachments are stored in Cloudflare R2. Data is encrypted in transit with TLS, files are served through access-checked, time-limited links, and integration secrets are encrypted. We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and delete it when you delete the related project or your account.

4. Cookies & Tracking

The Bugfyx widget does not set tracking cookies. The Bugfyx app uses essential cookies for sign-in and session management only. Our marketing website uses Google Analytics only after you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner; until then Google Consent Mode stays set to denied and the analytics script is not loaded. We do not use advertising trackers. See our Cookie Policy for details.

5. Sub-processors & Third-Party Services

We use the following sub-processors to operate Bugfyx. Each one processes data only to provide its service to us and is bound by its own data protection terms.

  • Our hosting provider (EU): Application servers and the PostgreSQL database
  • Cloudflare: File storage (R2), CDN, website hosting and bot protection
  • Amazon Web Services (CloudFront, S3): Delivery of the widget script
  • Brevo: Transactional and notification email (SMTP)
  • Stripe: Payments and billing
  • Google: Sign-in with Google (OAuth) and, with your consent, Google Analytics on our website
  • Anthropic: Generating short titles for feedback reports
  • Slack and Trello: Only when you connect these integrations, to deliver reports to your workspace or board

See also our Data Processing Agreement and Cookie Policy.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict or port your personal data and to object to its processing. You can export your data or delete your account from your dashboard settings, or contact us at privacy@bugfyx.com. We respond to all requests within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Where we process widget data on behalf of a customer, our Data Processing Agreement applies.
